Completely unhinged, chaotic, and exciting - Iron Widow is the perfect combination of angry feminist reimagination of Chinese history and mecha sci-fi. Iron Widow is an entirely new experience, with many exhilarating moments and a compelling, morally-challenged (anti?)heroine to spearhead its story.
Although I wished for a more mature feel to the story, Threadneedle is a bewitching debut enthralling and strongly imaginative enough to bind me in its spell. With such sumptuous magic, richly drawn characters, splendid villains, and seductive prose, how could it not?
The Once and Future Witches is a a beautifully haunting, intricate tapestry best fit to tell the tale of sisterhood, justice, and the much, much righteous female rage.
